Wow!
I went to see Sam after suffering ongoing pain following a 1/2 knee replacement.
On my initial consultation Sam put me at ease, and listened to what I said and quickly came up with the best way forward
He quickly diagnosed that the op had failed and I was booked in for a revision total knee replacement.
Every step of the way was seamless thanks to the expertise and efficiency of his secretarial staff, especially Polly.
On admission of my operation to my discharge, everyone,and I mean everyone at the Schoen Clinic were exceptional.
Sam is an outstanding consultant, a great guy, and very approachable.His aneasthetist, Barry Phillips is also a great guy and they make a great team.
If you are in any doubt as to whether or not to use Sam's expertise,and the Schoen Clinic, don't hesitate, you will not be disappointed.

Mr Rajaratnam is an outstanding consultant, who immediately puts his patients at ease and gives very clear explanations about the medical problem and the treatment required to rectify it. He has an extremely caring manner and I had every confidence that I would be well looked after throughout the full knee replacement surgery and recovery. Post operative care and pain management were excellent and I left the Horder Centre well prepared for the next stage of my recovery. My follow up telephone appointment with Mr Rajaratnam was reassuring and enabled me to ask any questions regarding the continuing process of recovery.
I am delighted with the way my new knee is functioning and have the highest respect and regard for Mr Rajaratnam.
My husband had two full knee replacements carried out by Mr Rajaratnam and had the same sort of experience.

I had A full left knee replacement by Sam three years ago. I had the Vanguard high flexion knee so that I could return to competing with my horses.
All I can say is it is the best thing I ever did and Sam and his team are absolutely amazing and I would recommend him to anybody. If it wasn’t for him I would not be riding today.

Dr Sam Rajaratnam is an excellent physician who treats knee surgery as seriously as Van Gogh cared for his art. What sets Sam apart apart is that he is constantly optimising his procedures to deliver optimal outcomes for his patients. This means his stats for completing successful operations without complications are in the best tier available. He also a top bloke to deal with and has an excellent team supporting too.

Mr. Sam Rajaratnam FRCS (Tr. & Orth.) is an internationally renowned Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee replacement surgery and sporting injuries of the knee.
Mr Rajaratnam has performed over 7000 knee replacements with excellent outcomes, and is an expert on rapid recovery and lower pain scores following knee surgery. He has one of the lowest revision (failure) rates and best outcomes (PROMS) for knee replacements on the UK National Joint Registry and is an advocate for transparent, outcomes driven healthcare. He is an expert in robotic assisted knee replacement and was first to implement ROSA robotic technology within the UK private sector.
Mr Rajaratnam regularly treats professional and amateur sportspeople with soft tissue injuries to their knee, and performs over 120 ACL reconstructions and other soft tissue procedures each year as day case procedures. He regularly treats members of the Professional Football Association and is on the faculty of the FIFA Football medicine conference each year.
Mr Rajaratnam originally trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in London and qualified with a First Class degree in anatomy and an MBBS in 1997. He trained via the Royal College of Surgeons, England at numerous centres of excellence in the UK and then Australia.
Mr Rajaratnam was awarded the Walter Mercer Gold Medal for the best performance throughout Great Britain and Ireland in the final FRCS Orthopaedics examination in 2006.
